Staff Biography for Gene Dilworth
Gene Dilworth is a Program Associate in the Boulder
office of the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project
(SWEEP).
Prior to joining SWEEP in 2008, Gene served as
Academic Administrative Director of the Environmental
Studies Department at Naropa University, where he taught
courses in ecology, ecopsychology and related topics.
Prior to that, Gene worked in the City of Boulder
Environmental Affairs Office, where he managed all
sustainability education and outreach efforts, and
coordinated the creation of the multi-agency Boulder
Area Sustainability Information Network. He also worked
with the Peak to Peak Healthy Communities Project, where
he coordinated a community-based master planning process
for open space, parks and trails.
In addition to his sustainability work, Gene is
committed to helping people find meaningful connection
with wild nature, and has been leading environmental
education and transformative nature-based personal
growth programs since 1986. He guides wilderness outings
and workshops through the Wild Heart Center, Animas
Valley Institute, and other organizations.
Gene holds a MA in Environment & Community from
Antioch University-Seattle, and a BA in Ecology from
Prescott College. |
