ARRA Stimulus Tracking

Many new programs and incentives encouraging energy efficiency have recently come on line through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). Much of the federal funding is made available through grants to states and municipalities. Here you can download copies of the State Energy Program (SEP) plans for ARRA funds filed by each of our southwestern states, along with Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) plans for cities as they become available:

$44 Million for State Public Utility Commissions
On September 21, 2009, the Department of Energy announced that more than $44.2 million in ARRA funding will be disbursed to State public utility commissions (PUCs). Funds are to be used to hire new staff and retrain existing employees to ensure that PUCs have the capacity to quickly and effectively review the large number of electric utility requests that are expected under the Recovery Act. State PUCs will be reviewing electric utility investments in projects such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, carbon capture and storage, transmission lines, energy storage, smart grid, demand response equipment, and electric and hybrid-electric vehicles.

Following are links to a variety of regularly updated web sites tracking ARRA funding and associated energy projects in the Southwest and nationally.
