[PHOENIX, AZ] – On July 6, Plug In America and the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP) presented their third annual Arizona Transportation Electrification Forum. More than 150 policymakers, city managers, fleet operators, electric vehicle (EV) companies, and consumer and environmental advocates participated in discussions on how Arizona should plan for EV charging station investments that will flow from the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will receive more than $76.5 million in federal dollars from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program, one of many programs created by the law.

The Arizona Transportation Electrification Forum highlighted keynote speakers, including Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, ADOT Director John Halikowski, and Arizona Commerce Authority President and CEO Sandra Watson. This year’s event also featured roundtable discussions with the Maricopa Association of Governments, Federal Highway Administration, KORE Power, ElectraMeccanica, EVgo, Cruise, General Motors, Li-Cycle, as well as Arizona Public Service and Salt River Project.

We hope this is the first of many conversations to come.”
