[BOULDER, CO] – Like electric cars, which are fun to drive and cheaper to operate and maintain than gasoline-powered cars, there are more efficient and cleaner electric technologies and appliances available for heating our homes, providing hot water, and cooking our food. These technologies offer improved comfort, cooking performance, health and safety, and reduced energy costs (in many cases). And they are a major part of the solution to reducing our impacts on climate change.
The Beneficial Electrification League of Colorado (BEL-CO) launched a new website today to help promote these efficient electric technologies to Colorado homeowners. The new “Love Electric” website will help educate homeowners on efficient electric heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and induction cooktops. The website will also provide lists of rebates from utilities and local governments, and lists of qualified heat pump and heat pump water heater installers, which will help homeowners get better bids on their next heating or cooling/hot water system upgrades.
BEL-CO is a coalition of utility, government, environmental, and energy efficiency organizations, including the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP), Colorado Energy Office, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, RMI, Colorado Rural Electric Association (CREA), NTS Energy LLC, and the Energy Efficiency Business Coalition (EEBC). BEL-CO’s mission is to achieve a higher level of market penetration of heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and other efficient electric technologies in homes and businesses across Colorado.
