[BOULDER, CO] – The Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP) announced today the addition of two members to its board: Dr. Mary House of Nevada and Mayane Barudin of New Mexico. Voted onto the SWEEP board at last Friday’s board meeting, Dr. House and Ms. Barudin will begin their board service immediately.

“SWEEP’s board and staff are thrilled to welcome these two efficiency leaders to our team,” said Elise Jones, Executive Director of SWEEP. “Both will bring unique skills, experiences, and perspectives that will be invaluable to our work to advance energy efficiency and equity across the Southwest.”

Dr. Mary House, President & CEO, Caring, Helping & Restoring Lives

Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Mary House co-founded a faith-based community organization called Caring, Helping & Restoring Lives (CHR) that assists people in need in southern Nevada, including educating them on clean energy and efficiency improvements to make their homes healthier and more affordable. Dr. House and CHR work in a coalition with SWEEP and others to advocate for energy efficiency and electrification programs that reduce emissions and utility bills while promoting equity in underserved households and communities of color.

Mayane Barudin, Interior West Deputy Program Director, Vote Solar

A proud Indigenous woman and a Tribal member of Kewa Pueblo in New Mexico, Mayane Barudin champions clean energy and energy justice through her work with Vote Solar and Sovereign Energy, the nonprofit she founded to help tribes lead their transition to renewable energy resources.
